In anticipation of this, we’d like to take the opportunity to inform you of some changes that we’ve made, which will enhance the services we offer, and improve still further, the experience that customers have when buying and selling though us.

Sale Viewing

We continue to offer a COVID secure environment for you to view and attend our sales.

Our spacious and airy salerooms ensure that social distancing is maintained and with numerous hand sanitiser stations and plastic screens around, we have made every effort to see that you have a safe, pleasant and stressless experience during your visit.

No appointment is needed to attend the view days. However, at busy times, to avoid overcrowding, we will be operating a 'one out-one in' policy, so this may involve a short wait.

Please note facemasks are compulsory.

Attending an auction

To avoid overcrowding on auction day, we strongly recommend that you use our remote live bidding service
‘A & G Live’ and bid from the comfort of your home or office. It’s easy to use and great value at just 2% plus Vat*

Should you wish attend the auction on sale days in person, you must book an appointment, as we are limited to numbers. To book a seat or for further information, please contact us 0191 430 3000 and speak to one of the team.

Payment and collection

The ‘click and collect’ system has worked particularly well in recent months. It has improved efficiencies and vastly reduced waiting times, and the general feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, so it’s here to stay.

Therefore, if you’ve made a successful bid, please don’t just turn up to pay and collect. We kindly ask that, once you’ve paid for your purchase/s online via the website,  you book a click and collect appointment. Alternatively, please call us to book a collection appointment.

Our Town and County Auctions are now to become our Homes and Interiors Auctions

Now held on a Tuesday, approximately once a fortnight, throughout the year, these will contain approximately 600 carefully selected lots from estate clearances and private homes.
Viewing will be held on the Monday prior to the auction from 10am – 3pm.

Free in-house valuations to resume Monday-Friday 9am-4pm

Although suspended during lockdown, we are delighted to resume our free in-house valuation service, for items that you are thinking of selling. We continue to offer a COVID secure environment for you to attend our premises. For larger consignments and collections we offer free COVID secure home visits.
