Our inaugural Northern Art Auction highlights work by Northern British artists close to home in the North East as well as the North West, particularly around the industrial centres of Manchester and Liverpool. The work of L.S Lowry best encapsulates the "Northern School" of painters. These artists focused on urban scenes of factories, mills and ordinary people instead of traditional rural landscapes.

This auction includes the work of Norman Cornish, Fred Yates, Tom McGuinness, Richard Hobson, Charlie Rogers and many more from the mid-20th century as well as earlier local works by Robert Jobling, Frank Henry Mason and John Falconar Slater.
