Amongst the usual some of big brand names such as Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Franck Muller and Longines, that we often see in our auction, we are pleased to present a rare and desirable collection of Chinese Market pocket watches and carriage clocks. Collected by a single owner who lived in Hong Kong for many years, these rare pieces show exquisite detailing to the enamel work. One particularly rare piece, Lot 719, was made by Charman & Co of London but enamelled by Louis Comtesse. Less than a handful of these have come up for auction in the last few decades, and it holds a pre-auction estimate of £20,000-30,000.

Antique Jewellery is the flavour of this auction, with one particular piece which dates back more than 2,000 years. Lot 500 is a ring set with a gold coin from the Kingdom of Macedonia during the reign of Alexander the Great. Fast-forwarding two millennia, there are a good number of pieces from the Georgian and Victorian periods, including a fabulous tiara with brooch fittings, multiple hardstone cameos, and a lovely banded agate necklace with matching chandelier earrings. Historically interesting is a Women's Suffrage necklace, Lot 469, by Hugo Schaper of Berlin, in its original box. There are still some great 20th Century pieces for those with more modern tastes, with big brand names such as Fabergé, Tiffany and Van Cleef & Arpels.
If you have any similar items and are considering selling, don’t hesitate to get in touch and our specialists will be delighted to discuss including them in one of our upcoming auctions.

Following Parts One and Two of the Brian Whitton Collection - which together drew international attention and introduced new audiences to one of the most significant private collections of John Tunnard's work ever assembled - Anderson & Garland is proud to present the third and final chapter.
Part Three steps beyond Tunnard to reveal the full breadth of Brian's eye as a collector. Over decades of looking, acquiring, and living with art, Brian assembled a remarkable group of modern and contemporary works that reflect a sensibility both discerning and adventurous; the collection of a man who clearly understood Tunnard's restless curiosity because, in many ways, he shared it.
Whether you are a collector of modern British art, an admirer of mid-century abstraction, or simply someone who has followed the Whitton Collection from the beginning, Part Three offers a fitting and rewarding conclusion to an exceptional series of sales.
Anderson and Garland is one of the UK’s largest Auction Houses and has a worldwide reputation for offering major single-owner collections at auction. Our team of Specialists blend expertise and experience with tailored marketing strategies, to ensure a collection is presented to best reflect the passion of the owner and reach a large and engaged audience. Specialist areas include paintings, coins, militaria, silver, jewellery, books, musical instruments, comics, toys, silver and wide range of memorabilia and ephemera.
If you are a collector and are considering selling, don’t hesitate to get in touch and our specialists will be delighted to discuss details.
