We are pleased to present our January book auction, containing: an impressive single owner mountaineering collection, with Daniell (William), A Voyage Round Great Britain, first edition, 1814-25, eight volume set; a selection of antique and 20th Century French literature, with early editions of Herge’s famous TinTin series; a selection of Folio Society books, with fine quality reproduction limited editions; and much more.

We are pleased to present our Collectors Auction, containing a huge selection of all things interesting and collectible, including toys and models, stamps, Rock & Pop memorabilia, militaria and much, much more!

Some of the highlights to include: an impressive Siebe Gorman & Co. six-bolt copper and brass diver’s helmet; a large collection of boxed Mattel Barbie and friends figures; Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Pierre Optique Apple Corps signed print for the 40th Anniversary of the album, by Peter Blake; and a trade union banner for the South Shields Branch National Union of General and Municipal Workers.

Some major highlights in our art section include “St Ives, Cornwall” by David Bomberg, “Clay Pans" by Emily Kam Kngwarreye and "View of Galilee" by Reuven Rubin. A distinguished selection of 19th century and earlier paintings will be offered in this upcoming Fine Art Auction, featuring important works by leading European and British artists. A major highlight is Village Scene with Cattle Drinking by Eugène Louis Boudin, signed and dated 1851, from the collection of George Sherwood Hunter. Boudin, a key figure in 19th-century French painting,is also noted for introducing the young Claude Monet to painting en plein air. From the same collection comes Elizabeth Adela Forbes’s Gathering Flowers in a Wild Meadow, a refined Impressionist composition depicting a woman and child against a village prospect; other notable works include Frederick Richard Lee’s A Distant View of Dunbar Castle and Walter Hunt’s characterful rural scene A Bay Horse Shares a Farmyard Meal.

Our popular Asian Art auction presents a carefully curated selection of ceramics and works of art. Highlights include a Chinese Qing porcelain two-fold screen, an 18^th Century Chinese blue and white pheasant jar, and a Chinese Qing famille noir biscuit porcelain vase, with impressed Kangxi seal mark to base and paper label for the Gulbenkian Museum Durham.

Our Spring Country House and Fine Interiors auction presents a stunning selection of ceramics, furniture, clocks, and more, showcasing the very best in fine interiors.

Highlights include an impressive collection of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson furniture, an Edwardian oak arts and crafts bookcase for Liberty & Co London, in the manner of Maple and Co. Other standout pieces feature a rare 18^th Century acorn knop wine glass, a fruit painted Worcester basket, and a fabulous life size cold cast bronze model of a standing labrador.
