A cased violin and bow, the violin labelled ''Number 76, Arthur Richardson, Crediton, Devon, 1924'', two-piece back of even broad flame sloping downwards from the mid seam, length of body 14in. (35.5cms); the bow stamped ''F.R. August Herrmann'', length 29 1/2in. (75cms). A repair note from John & Arthur Beare, 20 April 1982.
