A group of Boer War and Great War medals and a Military OBE, awarded to Wing Commander the Honourable Claude M.P. Brabazon, to include: a Queens South Africa medal, with South Africa 1902 and Cape Colony bars marked 'Lieut: Hon: C. Brabazon. Imp Yeo'; a 1914 star, marked 'Major Hon: C.M.P. Brabazon I.Gds. Attd: R.F.C.'; 1914-15 star marked 'SQ. CR. Hon. C.M.P. Brabazon R.N.'; and a British War medal and Civilisation medal marked 'WG. Commr. The Hon. C.M.P. Brabazon R.N.A.S.', all with ribbons; and an unmarked Military OBE, with original Garrard & Co. fitted case. NB. Gazetted 2nd July 1901 The Honorable Claude Brabazon took part in the second Gordon Bennett Balloon Race for Great Britain with Griffin Brewer in the Lotus II on October 21st 1907 in St. Louis Missouri. Although coming dead last they were the only British team to compete and travelled 577,97km in 24h.40m.
