An early 19th Century camphor wood pedestal secretaire desk, the upper section enclosed by a pair of panelled doors enclosing pigeon holes and three short drawers, with one long drawer to the frieze opening to reveal a writing slope, fitted an arrangement of eight short drawers below, all with inset brass handles and decorated with stringing, raised on later plinth bases, 41 x 53in. high (possibly made for military use).
