A light baluster friendship goblet of the 'Newcastle' type, the round funnel bowl engraved with pineapples and statuary in an elaborate flourish above which are clasped hands, an inscription to the reverse reads ''HET GOEDSUCCES VAN HET HULWELYK'', the tall stem comprises a flattened shoulder knop above a short section with a knop above a beaded knop and basal knop below a plain section with a conical foot, c.1765, height 18.6cms.
