Joan Williams (1922-2002) ''LA CARMARGUE'' signed, inscribed and dated 1970 and numbered 9 from an edition limited to 30 etching with aquatint printed in brown and black 39.5 x 49cms; 15 1/2 x 19 3/8in. NB Williams was born in Pontypndd in South Wales and taught at Medway College of Art, the Shipley School of Art and later was Head of Printmaking at Maidstone College of Art. She also taught in California eventually retiring to work as a freelance painter and printmaker.
