R*** Neill (Australian 19th Century) ''MOUNT MORRISTON, MACQUARIE RIVER, VAN DIEMEN'S LAND'' with inscription verso ''Painted by R. Neill Commissariat Department in 1825 in Hobart Town from a drawing made on the spot. Now, Assistant Commissary General Neill at Berbice in 1850. This is the original house since burnt down, and re-built on a larger scale'', also inscribed with the title given above and ''Huon Pine Tree''. oil on panel 17.5 x 25cms; 6 7/8 x 9 3/4in.
