Engraved 'Jacobite' opaque twist wine glass, the ogee bowl with rose, bud and three leaves opposing thistle and two leaves above double series opaque twist stem with pair of spiral threads enclosing slight spiral gauze, on conical foot, mid 18th Century, height 14.5cms. See illustration PROVENANCE Jeanette Hayhurst, Kensington Church Street, London, 3 May 2001, £895. NOTE It is usual for a 'Jacobite Thistle' to be seen with this form of opaque twist stem.
