The highest selling lot was a 1949 Selmer Paris super balanced action tenor saxophone, it sold for £5,100 hammer. This was bought by a bidder in the room who had travelled from the other side of the country to be in with a chance of securing this lot. We often find that the more like-minded items are in an auction the further people are willing to travel. This is why our Specialist Auctions work so well.
Across the board it was the Selmer Saxophones which did the best. Established by Henri Selmer in Paris, this company has always made the best quality instruments, reeds and mouth pieces. See below for some of the highlights or Music Auction to see the auction results.
