A mid 18th Century walnut bureau, with feather banded rectangular fall-flap, fitted a J. Bramah lock, opening to reveal a fitted interior of pigeon holes, small drawers, secret compartments and a well with sliding cover, two short and two long graduated drawers below fitted brass handles and lock escutcheons, raised on bracket feet, 44 x 26 x 42 1/2in. high. PROVENANCE Sold by Anderson & Garland Lot 690, 15th August, 1973. Since at Acomb High House, Acomb, Northumberland, sold by direction of the Executors of Mrs. E.B. Harris, Deceased.
