Studied engineering in Lausanne and architecture in Geneva. Moved to Brussels 1892, student of violinist Eugene Ysaye. Studied drawing and painting from 1859 in Geneva and Paris. 1897 became Director of Fine Art at Colorado College U.S.A. Divorced his wife Madge 1903 and returned to Switzerland. Violinist with Lausanne Symphony Orchestra 1907, then Orchestra of Geneva until 1915. Enters Asylum of the Jura, Ballaigues and begins to draw again. Specialises in pencil and ink drawings 1930-37.
