A rare steel knife and two prong fork, c.1700, possibly Scottish Provincial, with mounted tortoiseshell cannon handles decorated with fluted silver coloured inserts, engraved initials I: S, the blade with cutler's mark of a symbol above an scimitar, the silver coloured end cap with maker's mark 'AB', the knife 7in. (18cms) (damaged end), the fork 6 3/4in. (7.25cms). See illustration
