Sculpture gifted to charity by Andy Scott up for auction next week
Artist Andy Scott, most famous for his sculpture ‘The Kelpies’, has donated a bronze sculpture titled ‘The Rocking Horse’ to two baby loss charities SiMBA and Held in Our Hearts, ahead of ‘The Kelpies’ 10th anniversary this April.
The bronze sculpture, which measures 71 cm high, is from a series of three sculptures and carries an auction estimate of £10,000 - £15,000. The whereabouts of the other two sculptures is currently unknown, but are believed to be in private collections.
Scott donated ‘The Rocking horse’ to SiMBA and Held in our Hearts, charities that support families affected by baby loss and is believed to be an alternative to his sculpture ‘Lulla-bye’, which is a memorial to children of the Mortonhall baby ashes tragedy, and is located in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh.

‘The Rocking Horse’ is up for auction as part of The Spring Country House & Fine Interiors Auction at Anderson & Garland Auctioneers in Newcastle and will go under the hammer on Thursday 23rd March.
