Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Anderson & Garland Newsletter. What a busy start to 2023…..
9 auctions already under our belt and another 12 planned before the end of April.
Renowned specialist Alex Butcher joined the team at the start of the year as Head of our Silver Department. He’s settled in well, with several big collections already consigned for the fine sale in March. If you have items/collections of Silver or Objects of Vertu you would like to discuss with Alex, call us to make an appointment on 0191 430 3000.
The season highlight is the Spring Country House & Fine Art Auction. Items consigned so far include a pencil sketch of Penshaw Monument by LS Lowry; a bronze rocking horse by Andy Scott (sculptor of The Kelpies, Falkirk); and selected items from two significant local country houses. We are still inviting entries. If you would like to consign an item/s for sale, don’t delay, please get in touch before the deadline on 1st March.
Specialist auctions continue to deliver great results for our vendors. The Collectors’ Auction on 2nd March includes a large quantity of British and Foreign coins and banknotes; rare, mint, and proofed condition gold and silver coins including sovereigns.
The highly anticipated Music Auction on 1st & 2nd March, includes: a 1962 Gibson L7-C; a 1971 Fender Stratocaster; a vast array of vintage vinyl and other high quality musical instruments; and vintage Hi-FI.
After the successful launch of the A&G Roadshow events last year, we’re pleased to announce that our valuers are hitting the road once again. They will be visiting Alnwick (6th March), Berwick (7th March) and Hexham (8th March), in Northumberland. No appointment needed, just come along between 11am - 3pm to receive a free auction valuation on items you are looking to sell. For location and event timing info, please visit andersonandgarland.com.
A&G Land & Property, our Estate Agency, has gone from strength to strength and already has an impressive property portfolio with glowing customer reviews since its launch early last year. Headed by award winning property expert Gareth Jones, we provide an unrivalled one-to-one service for every client. If you have a property you would like to discuss, contact Gareth T: 0191 4303025 or E: info@agpropertyagents.com
That’s all for this edition of the A&G newsletter. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Each year we carefully select three local charities to support. Our fundraising efforts and activities centre around our flagship Country House & Fine Interiors Auctions.
We are pleased to announce that the charity we’ll be supporting for the Spring Country House & Fine Interiors Auction is ‘Daft as a Brush’
‘Daft as a Brush’ does fantastic work transporting cancer patients to and from hospital, free of charge, and was founded by award winning Brian Burnie, an old friend of A&G’s.
If you have a charity you would like to nominate, send your recommendations to: info@andersonandgarland.com
Our team of valuers are hitting the road and heading to Northumberland. Join them in Alnwick, Berwick and Hexham this March.
