A collection of ephemeral relation to Brigadier-General Hubert Horatio Shirley Morant, Durham Light Infantry, to include: the original draft copy of his First World War diaries from May 1915-February 1918; the first war diaries he wrote, from when he joined in 1889 through to 1892; two half-yearly reports from 1889; officer's certificate along with letter reading he was the highest marked in Riding and received a prize for his achievement, note by himself reading 'Very cheap + bad, I lost this prize in the Sudan'; various other certificates; map and letters from his time in Khartoum; a map showing the sectioning of the Duren area of Germany; and other items of interest. Note: The finished and bound volumes of Brig-Gen H.H.S. Morant were sold in June this year at Anderson & Garland.
