An Irish Flintlock blunderbuss by Clarke, Dublin, c.1790, with brass 15in. (38cms) three-stage barrel of flared muzzle, rounded centre and octagonal breech, engraved 'Clarke, Dublin', full-length stock holding ramrod under, steel lockplate engraved 'Clarke' (much pitted), brass trigger guard and butt cap, 31in. (79cms) long. NB Nicholas Clarke is recorded in Dublin, c.1788-1811.
