A late 19th Century French kingwood and marquetry secretaire cabinet, the raised cabinet back surmounted by a multi coloured marble panel within a pierced gilt metal gallery surround, the central serpentine glazed panelled door flanked by a pair of panelled doors and glazed sides, all within gilt metal leaf mounted frames enclosing the mirror-backed interior, the desk surface inlaid with central panel of marquetry scrolls, flanked by a pair of trellis pattern panels, each centred by a floral motif, the secretaire drawer below with hinged fall front enclosing a red velour writing surface and two short drawers, the drawer front inlaid to match the desk top, raised on slender scrolling legs decorated with further gilt metal leaf and flower moulded brackets and terminating in sabots, 36 x 19 1/2 x 59 1/2in. high.
