After Thomas Gainsborough (c.1727-1788) A PORTRAIT OF LADY GEORGIANA SPENCER with inscriptions on labels verso pastels 98.5 x 73.5cms; 38 3/4 x 29in. Lady Georgian Spencer was the daughter of the 1st Earl Spencer, later Duchess of Devonshire after her marriage to the 5th Duke of Devonshire, June 1774. The original portrait by Thomas Gainsborough upon which this pastel is based, hung at Spencer House and subsequently in Althorp Park, Northampton.
