Biography: Born Klosterneuburg, Austria, 1936. During World War II Walla's mother Aloisia, raised him as a girl to spare him from the draft. Made his first drawings at the age of 10. Diagnosed as schizophrenic at the age of 17 and began a lifetime habit of writing, making objects and graffiti. Admitted to Gugging Hospital 1970. Moved to Haus der Künstler in 1983. Died 2001.
