William Smith & Co, Stockton: a child's plate with printed design of a girl feeding chickens, within a hand-painted floral border, impressed ''W S & Co Wedgwo*** Ware'', made before 1848, circa 1830's/40's. NB William Smith & Co used the mark ''Wedgwood'' or ''Wedgewood'', but were successfully injuncted by the Wedgwood family on 8th August 1848 to cease from using this mark.
