A rare North Eastern tobacco jar, the floral painted, domed cover enclosing a weight, fitted with a snuff compartment entitled ''Snuff'', the base with similar floral decoration and cartouche and inscribed ''John Kennedy 1825 Be Canny with The Backy'', 9in. (23cms) high (knop replaced, some cracks, restoration to snuff container).
