A late 19th Century Italian hanger, the double-edged curved blade etched with leaf scrolls, the hilt having a steel cross guard with ball terminals and bone grip with roundel decoration, fitted a metal mounted leather scabbard, 19in. (49cms) long; together with a 20th Century Scottish Highland dirk, the steel blade with fuller and grooves, checker cut ebonised wooden grip and faceted glass pommel, 46cms (18in.) (no scabbard).
