Alvar Aalto: a painted laminated stacking chair, with solid back and seat, chamfered front rail, applied label to underside for Finmar Ltd. NB Finmar was a wholesaler and major importer of Scandinavian furniture to Britain and the Empire from 1934-1965. They imported Alvar Alto's plywood furniture from Finland before the war, it changed its source of goods to Denmark in 1949 when the company was sold.
