Happy New Year!
We’re back and well rested after a lovely Christmas break. Our offices reopened for business on Tuesday 2nd January, and we’ve certainly hit the ground running.
Last week we published the first three auction catalogues of the year: Homes & Interiors; Silver, Jewellery & Watches; and The Comics Auction. The regulars amongst you will have noticed that due to the continued expansion of the jewellery department, we have decided to spin off Silver, Jewellery & Watches from the Homes & Interiors, and form a separate auction. From now on, it will be a standalone biweekly sale, taking place on a Wednesday at 10am. The day before, our Homes & Interiors Auction will also now begin at the later start time of 10am on Tuesday.
In other news, planning and preparations are well underway for the first Modern Art and Music Auctions of the year. Entries are now closed for the Modern Art & Design Auction, but if you have items that you think could be the star of the next Music Auction, we’re still accepting entries up until the end of the month. With some wonderful items already consigned, your items would be in good company. Highlights include a ’Golden Hofner’, the rarest of the Hofner guitars, of which less than one hundred were ever produced.
The locations for the first in the 2024 series of A&G ‘Roadshows’ are in the process of being finalised. We look forward to this series of free valuation and consignment events in the community again this year, both at our regular venues and some new ones as well in Morpeth and the at the coast. We’ll be sharing more information with you in the coming weeks.
And finally…later this week we have some very exciting news to share with you all. Keep an eye on our social media channels and the press!
That’s all for now.
