Specialist summer auctions: bid online during the summer holidays

Anderson and Garland auctioneers, based in the North East of England, offer an online bidding portal that allows internet bidding from around the world. We have a number of exciting specialist auctions this summer, so mark your diaries to place bids online during the summer holidays.

Be there without being there: bidding online over the summer holidays

Our auctioneers have offered a few pointers for bidding online while away on holiday:

• Set up reminders. For some time now, we have offered reminder alerts to be notified when an auction becomes available for online viewing. This summer, we are also implementing a system to notify subscribed members when the auction goes live for online bidding. Register for an email alert so you don’t miss out on that special item.
• Do your research and make a plan: we tend to advise bidders to prepare themselves in advance of an auction. View the items online and even contact us with any questions about objects of interest before the auction goes live. Decide how much you’d be willing to pay for each item, so even if you’re enjoying a pina colada on the beach while bidding, you’ll be satisfied with your choices from the online auction.
• Pre-register for online bidding. If you’re usually present at our Newcastle salesrooms, you may not yet have created an online account with us. It takes just a couple of minutes to set up your online account, but to ensure your holidays are about total relaxation, register in advance so you can simply log in with a click and begin viewing the auction online.
• Did you know our online bidding portal is also optimised for mobile devices? Simply bring your phone or tablet to the poolside and bid online from your sun lounger!

The Collector’s Auction, Tuesday 9^th July

Our popular Collector’s Auction is set to feature a variety of rare and eclectic collector’s items from around the North East and beyond. Our recent Collector’s Auction in August showcased an impressive range of rare autographs, including a beer matt signed by Elizabeth Taylor, Newcastle United signatures and a Mohamed Ali and Joe Frazier signed print.

The Medals Auction, Thursday 11^th July

An impressive collection of medals and honours, including The Mabon Collection, will be auctioned in our upcoming Medals Auction.

The Comic Book Auction, Thursday 25^th July

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s our infamous Comic Book Auction! We’ve had huge success with these events in the past, and we even hold a record for selling the largest collection of Viz Comics ever sold at auction.

The September Fine Art Auction, 3^rd & 4^th September

Following an extensive auction of North East interest items in our June Fine Art Auction, we are looking forward to this next quarterly event.

The Watches Auction, 4^th September

You can expect an assortment of luxury watches to come up for auction including prestige brands like Rolex, Omega and Baume & Mercier.

Town and County Auctions

Our regular Town and County auctions will also be held on 26th June, 10^th & 24^th July and 7^th & 21^st August 2019.
